Deodorant Recipe

Jun 26, 2021 | Product, Recipes

Ingredients

65g Shea Butter

65g Coconut oil (not fractionated – solid)

10g beeswax pellets

70g bicarb soda

40g bentonite or kaolin clay (or 20g of each)

up to 45 drops of oils of your choice

Method

Create a double boiler by placing a bowl inside a saucepan of boiling water.

Add the Shea Butter, coconut oil, and beeswax pellets to the bowl and melt slowly, taking care not to overheat it.

Add the bicarb soda and clay and mix until well combined.

Then add the oils of choice (the mixture should be cooler so as not to compromise the oils, but not set as you still need to be able to mix it all together).

Transfer into jars and place in the fridge to set.

Apply a small amount under each armpit with fingertips

Tips on oils to use

You really can use any that you like. For a masculine smell, you may wish to us Shutran or Mister. I personally love the combination above. Cedarwood and Sacred Mountain are also favourites of mine. You really can use that you love.

Do remember that some oils (mainly citrus) are photosensitive – so these may be best avoided.

Where to get your ingredients

I use Young Living Essential Oils as I believe them to be the best quality available.

For the other ingredients, I choose Aussie Soap Supplies.
